Before gassing up, smart drivers check auto insurance coverage
What travelers could expect on the road this 4th of July
Knowing that traffic could be heavier than normal on a holiday weekend, smart drivers may tackle a checklist of pre-trip to-do’s that include having the car serviced, checking tire pressure and ensuring all necessary insurance documents are in the vehicle.
Increased traffic could lead to more accidents on the road and motorists should verify their auto insurance is up-to-date and coverage is complete.
This year AAA is uncertain how fuel prices will affect the travel plans of American families.
The well-known motoring and leisure travel organization is currently anticipating that 1.9 percent fewer vacationers will hit the road this 4th of July. Travelers have consistently dwindled since 2007 as the economy has declined.
“Many Americans remain cautious about the outlook for their personal finances and these attitudes are reflected in the slight decline in travel we are forecasting for the upcoming holiday weekend,” said Robert L. Darbelnet, AAA president & CEO.
