But with the financial crisis still wreaking havoc on the American household, some consumers are taking an even bigger risk to save money – they are driving without auto insurance.
A Nashville-based insurance provider recently polled consumers and found that 36 percent of respondents would continue to drive even if they were unable to afford their car insurance.
According to the insurance provider, many consumers say the risk of getting caught driving without insurance is worth it to stay behind the wheel and maintain their typical schedule.
With a number of potentially reckless drivers out on the road this summer and year-round, all drivers should remain alert.
AAA recently forecasted over 37 million people were likely to hit the road for the upcoming 4th of July holiday – meaning many people are at risk for a collision with an uninsured motorist.
