Good behavior may be rewarded with low auto insurance rates
Some looking for low auto insurance quotes may be surprised to learn discounts could come later
Most people in today’s economy are looking to pinch pennies wherever they can, and some are finding that their behavior may save them money on auto insurance.
Although some discounts on auto insurance may be applied when a driver seeks his or her initial insurance quote, the Motley Fool is reminding car owners to check back in with their coverage provider for new breaks.
The financial news site reported that many major insurance carriers are likely to offer discounts for those who have celebrated another birthday – people over 65 or those who are 55 and retired may be eligible.
Demonstrating an accident-free record for five years, providing proof of excellence in school, having good credit and even signing on for additional insurance plans with the same company could mean a discount is due, says the Motley Fool.
New York drivers may also be eligible for a break on their car insurance after completing a defensive driving course. Residents can now complete this course online – previously it was only available in a classroom setting.
