A report by WBTW-TV in South Carolina focuses on the emerging profession of wind inspections. The service is said to cost about $150 and gives many people a break on their annual homeowners insurance costs.
The television station also said that for many people, the cost of having their home’s ability to withstand a major storm is more than offset by the reduced premiums. In some cases, the annual savings were said to be hundreds of dollars.
“The $150 is just worth knowing your house is hurricane resistant or not. It’s worth it for that and just to know I can qualify for a grant is definitely worth it,” homeowner George Karakus was quoted as saying by the television station.
Homeowners in hurricane-prone areas should be especially attentive to ways they can save money on policies and improve their overall safety from major property damage.
