People who live in apartments are often advised to consider getting renters insurance, especially in light of the story of one Oregon woman.
A report on KVAL-TV in Eugene, Oregon focuses on Rhea Chrismer, whose family recently lost their rented home to a fire. The family did not have renters insurance, and now Chrismer is reminding others about how important it can be.
Most of the family’s belongings were ruined in the fire, although neighbors did manage to save their pets and the community has rallied around them by raising money and donating clothing.
“We’re not going to let this stop our little family. I’m learning good things come from bad things. You meet really good people,” the television station quoted her as saying.
